What's the difference between page annotations and reflective notes?

You may have seen that there are options to "Add reflective note" and "Add page annotation" at the bottom of content pages on GPnotebook. What's the difference between these two functions?

Page annotations

  • Annotations are personal notes that can be attached to the bottom of a GPnotebook page for future reference, as shown in the image below.
  • For example, you may wish to add information related to the content of the page that would be useful to have available during a consultation, such as a phone number or web address for a local service provider.
  • Annotations are accessible on the page to which they are attached.
  • GPnotebook Pro members can also export a list of all page annotations in their CPD report, although annotations are not intended for recording reflective notes.
  • Annotations are added to a page by using the "Add page annotation" button at the bottom of the page.

Reflective notes

  • Reflective notes (or reflections) enable you to earn CPD credits for reading a page on GPnotebook by considering how what you learned from the page relates to your clinical practice.
  • Reflections are only available to those users who upgrade to a GPnotebook Pro account.
  • Reflective notes are stored in the GPnotebook Pro CPD dashboard and can be exported as part of a CPD report.
  • Reflections can be added to a single GPnotebook page by using the "Add reflective note" button at the bottom of the page. A single reflective note can also be attached to groups of pages in the CPD dashboard. Indeed, if preferred, you can add a single "global" reflection to your entire year's reading, rather than making individual notes.
